Whilst in Portugal I stayed at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa which is in Vilamoura about a a 25 minute drive from Faro where the airport is. The hotel entrance reminded me of a crown and opposite the entrance was the Spa and across the road was the golf course. If your driving from the airport there isn’t any signs for the hotel as we found out and got lost but there are signs from the Marina area. The hotel reception is a massive open area with sofas, lifts and a gift shop. I was on floor 4 of the hotel which was quite easy to get to as I was near the reception area. The hotel has hundreds of rooms and I wouldn’t of liked to of been staying right at the other end of the hotel. You can also get free WiFi in the reception area and some access from the pool area you can also pay for it if you like. The hotel offers breakfast from 7-11 every morning which was in with the hotel and flight package I booked using Expedia. Breakfast is normally 23 euros per person which is quite a look. Once at reception they give you your room key, pool towel cards, shuttle schedule and a WiFi code whilst a porter takes your suitcases to the room. The hotel has 6 swimming pools with one in door pool along with a number of pool bars. When arriving at our rooms I was amazed to see a bath in my room and we had the best view from our balcony of the main swimming pool. You could order room service from the room but the food was quite expensive and the same with the mini bar.We also got dressing gowns and slippers in our room. The rooms were very spotless and clean and plenty of room in the rooms. The only thing was there was limited storage in the room so I had to keep some things in my suitcase. The hotel offered a snooker room where you could play snooker and a large conference room below the reception area. You could also hire out bikes at the hotel which is a great idea if you need to visit the local store which is about a 10 minute walk away. On the last day we had lunch by the pool which was the Hilton Club sandwich and a burger which were 17 an 18 euros each.
Each morning we headed down to breakfast which consisted of two large breakfast areas. One contained fruit, bread and cold drinks along with cooked bacon, sausages and toast. There was another section where all the eggs were being cooked and you can choose what ever you wanted.I loved staying the hotel and I loved the look and openness of the space and it wasn’t very crowded with people and all the staff were really friendly. I would love to go back one day as if your just visiting the Marina and beach you don’t really need to hire a car out as the hotel shuttle takes you there. I couldn’t find any faults with the 5 star hotel at all only that the food was quite expensive to buy.
Have you stayed at a Hilton Hotel before?
